ICLW ~ August 2010

WELCOME BACK for another fun bloggy lovefest week of ICLW!!!  Glad you're here, stop and stay a while if you like.  Feel free to explore the archives and the tabs up on the header to get a feel for who I am and what I'm about.

Since we all know I love ICLW and I love memes, and we especially know I love to combine the two, I decided to steal a new one from my Hobbity friend (who stole it from someone else, she said so herself...LOL).

1.) If you could live in any country but the United States, where would you live?   Tuscany or Ireland, maybe even Greece.  Somewhere with a lot of history.

2.) Why did you title your blog “A Long And Winding Road”?   Because it felt like the most accurate description of the journey of my life right now.  I wanted this blog to be about all aspects of my life; infertility, anxiety and depression, hobbies, knitting, reading, the coming back together of my marriage, my journey back to a close relationship with God, celebrations, successes, failures, hopes and dreams.  I am on a journey, chronicling the long and winding road from where and who I was to where and who I am supposed to be...and all the places and stops in between.

3.) How many “in real life” people know about your blog?   Just a couple.  My best friend, my husband (but he doesn't read it), and a select few other friends.  Most of my readers are online friends I met through message boards and the ALI community.

4.) Why did you decide to start blogging?   My first attempt at blogging was a knitting blog that didn't go anywhere.  My second attempt was chronicling weight loss and then morphed into a weight loss/infertility/knitting blog.  I blog for me mainly, as a journal of sorts.  There are times that I concentrate on content to draw in readers, or to "publicize" certain things, but mainly I just blog because I like to write and it gives me an outlet for emotions, ideas, etc.

5.) What kind of clothes do you wear?   I'm usually a jeans/t shirt kind of gal, but occasionally I can be caught dressing up a bit for a night out or church.  I have to wear a uniform similar to a cop without a gun to work, so I try to maintain as much comfort as possible when I'm "off duty".  Right now I'm in a comfy oversized t shirt and yoga pants.  :)

6.) What are you having for dinner tonight?   We had date night, so it was Mexican, Casa Gallardo.  :)

7.) Where do you “blog”?   In our "office" on my laptop at my desk that once belonged to my Great Aunt Helen.  Sometimes I'll blog from my iPhone via email.  Technology is such an amazing thing!

8.) Do you like to cook?   I love to cook.  I love baking more, but since my husband is diabetic and I have PCOS (prediabetic condition) most of my favorite baked goods are a no-no anymore.

9.) What’s your beverage of choice at night?  I am a good old Southern Sweet tea junkie.  I don't have it often, but I love it.  Mostly I drink Crystal Light or water.

10.) What would you most like to know about your fellow bloggers who read this?   I'd like to know how they found my blog, and what keeps them coming back.  And what, if anything, they'd like to know more about me.

  1. Great intro!!

  2. Woo hoo! Isn't this a great meme?

Sometimes I wish I had a uniform to wear to work. It would make some things so much easier.

I think I found you during an ICLW or maybe a show & tell many many moons ago. I love your honesty and your way that you seek out answers for your life. :)

  3. I may steal this one myself, lol. ; ) I don't remember how I found you, but I'm sure it was through the Stirrup Queen.

  4. Oooo I'm gonna steal this!

    Happy ICLW #117

  5. I've just been reading through your blog after finding it through ICLW. So glad to see that you and your hubby are having happy times again after a rough patch. Hope things continue to get better and better for you!

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments and insight with me, for being a part of my journey on The Road, and for allowing me to be a part of yours...come back soon!
